The Archaeology Library

The library's main role is to serve as an information and resource center for the students of the Department of Archaeology and Near Eastern Cultures and the staff of the Institute of Archaeology.

The library houses over 16000 books, 7000 offprints and about 100 periodicals , which focus on the subjects taught in the department. The library has access to useful Databases via wire and WIFI Internet connection.
The journals are chiefly acquired through exchange agreements with academic libraries worldwide.

The acquisition of new books is enabled by the generous support of the Friends of the Institute of Archaeology.

The computer catalogue of publications can be searched via the Aleph system of Sourasky Central Library. Some of the earlier non-Hebrew material is still being computerized, it can be located via the card catalogue.

The Archaeology library is managed by Nirit Kedem, with the assistance of chief librarian Alexandra Shavit.
